well, i am seriously considering replacing my infinity rs4's, and my cc-3...so if i do, i may as well get the bi/di's done. if i did that, id probably look to share the design cost with someone tho.

If you're interested in doing the research, I might be interested in sharing the cost.

I've been considering bi/di as well.

be a 2.5 way wouldn't it.....one 8 playing bass....one playing midrange....tweet on the highs.....

i contemplated doing that kit 281 set for center....but my satellites get so ****ing loud without any distortion...and sound perfect....i'm gonna use the same driver's for those.....buy lspcad, and make my own crossover :)

If you choose the drivers in question, adire can do the enclosure research for you at the same time they are doing the crossover design, just FYI.

You can have a direct, localized speaker which points at the listener.

Or you can have a bi/di/tri pole surround which provides more ambience, than a direct/localized sound in the surrounds (or both in the case of tri).

I can never remember which, but I believe bipoles are in phase, axis along the walls, and dipoles are out of phase axis along the walls.

They are suppose to provide better ambience, since that is all the surrounds are suppose to be.

I've seen speakers with bi/di switches on them, depending on your listening tastes.
