It's a RCA 801A. I think the older brother is the 10, and 10Y?

The 801A is a 3.8 watt triode, with a 7.5 volt thoriated tungsten filament.
That's why the DC supplies are heating the tube.
2A3's with a 2.5 volt filament is easy to heat with AC and made quiet.

A 7.5 volt filament heated with AC would hum and roar like a ground loop.
Dunno what to do with the 801's, I don't have output transformers with high enough primary impedance.

I'm thinkin' 801A linestage......one of these days........

If I noticed a 2A3 looking like that, time to shut the power off and grab the fire extinguisher :D

I love me some TT filaments.

I'm confused........wouldn't that be "I love me TT filaments"?

I was including yours as well, not just mine :)

Down here, that's accepted usage, i.e, "I love me some mustard biscuits 'n cawnbread witha sweet tea 'n fixinz". :D

'nother shot of the SV811-10 making fine music...

Would love to see a 801A based line stage, certainly isn't very common :)
