Postby ContourSPL » Tue Jul 11, 2006 8:38 pm

I'm planning on using the Pioneer 8" full range driver from Partsexpress and was interested in some TL plans. Can anybody lead me in the right direction??

That's a bit like saying climbing Everest is easy, just have to figure out how to get your stuff to the summit...:)

To the original poster - DIYAudio.com also is a good source of information...could glean some useful stuff from there. I'm curious to see how this will work out, because the Pioneer driver is a heck of a lot cheaper than the Fostex FE206E :)

Probably going to need a phase plug to lessen the HF beaming that you may get, depending on how you set them up.

Actually I was just thinking of the phase plug idea. Anywho, everytime I try to post at Diyaudio.com, it says I should search the forums first. So, I search and I search then I try to post and it says the same thing. I saw one design that was a voigt pipe, I think, it was plain and simple but the measurements were vague in description. I just want something easy to build. It's hard to find well descripted TL plans...

The BIB has listed plans for the Pioneer 8" :http://www.zillaspeak.com/bib-pioneer.asp. The BIB is an easy plan. Search around at Zillaspeaks.com or there is a 60+ page thread at DIYaudio.com about the design (it's in the Full Range section).

There is a checkbox at the top thay says "Have you searched?" Check that box, then you should be able to post.
