The whole building will hear a 15" sub! heres perspective; my dads home theater setup has a paradigm ps1000 sub, for those who dont know, its a 250w rms 10" sub in an enclosure similar to a bandpass box, and when he cranks it you can here it 3 houses down and across the street, although very faintly.

Now if youre looking into speakers, Klipsch are very nice loud music players. My dad choose Paradigm because it is more of a home theater setup than a party stereo, but it still shakes the house.

I'm running a pair of 12" Cerwin Vegas at around 500WRMS in my room. The amp gets it's power from a standard sealed 12V battery. I've got a 12V battery charger which I just use to top it up a couple of times a week.

Hmmm... i wonder if i could take a whole car stereo system and do that... a big box with a head unit and 1 pair of components in sealed compartments, a 2 channel amp on the spekers and a sub in tri mode. Something fun to think about?

Two videos of my little crappy MTX Th4000 in a 1.79cuft ported box:

Now using a 4ohm Kenwood:

My amp, which is Parts Express or Apex Sr., bought it used.

My old dorm sub:

eD B212 in ~1.5 cuft sealed box. Friend down the hall heard it and felt the walls shake from down the hall. I look out my door in case I see any cops or RAs, and he asks if it was me. I knocked over a girl's picture fram across the hallway.

Later on, had a cop come from two floors down because he heard my sub, which was actually turned down half way. He complimented me on it even. So much power, that when I set it up in the top cabinet, I could get the box to move. So that was a total of like $230 for sub and used amp. Just get an old Tempest or your SX, build a ported box, and hook up an amp.

Bedroom: Onkyo TX-SR605B powering DefTech ProCenter 2000 and pair BP6B, 2 Mirage Omni 350, PE amp pushing 12" eD B212.

Smooth move, FedEx!
