Exodus Kit 41

Postby Mhan » Thu Jul 20, 2006 6:24 pm

Does anyone have experience with these? Are they a good bang for the buck? I'm looking for something decent to go with a sub and don't have the $400 for the Kit 61 or 261.

For the price - damn good.

Damn good - love the fr/wr's to death.

If you want to go even cheaper, you could do a FR pair and do some of the custom cabinets that are out and about - possibly look at the tang band 4" bamboo driver that you can get from PE - I built a set of them in a small ported enclosure and they do wonderfully for the price.

Here in death's dominion
Where even shadows die
I am the one almighty
You will cry my name
And when you seek forgiveness
You will see there is no god
And for all eternity
You will cry my name

I'm sorry you are such an idiot that you cannot properly set up or operate quality speakers. :)

LOL, who's deaf and stupid? Yellow, the WR and FR are not subs. If you send them too much juice trying to wring that last bit of bass out of them they will have problems. Like someone else.

MDF will be fine, or if you are made of money, get some baltic birch, the 14 ply voidless stuff. But really, MDF is just about as good.

I'm hoping I can make 8 Kit61's and 4 Kit41's on the 2 sheets of MDF that are in my garage right now.

As Geist says, MDF or void free Baltic Birch works fine, but with these small of enclosures I'd probably opt for the MDF to add a bit of weight to them so they dont vibrate on your mounting surface. This is a case where the weight would be beneficial. Stay away from the particle board.

You can always veneer over the top of the MDF with Oak or Cherry veneer to obtain the final appearance you are after.
