I'm already doing that, just a step better. :) I'm building them a full 5.1 system using the Tang Band W4-657S wide range in .25 ft^3 enclosures, and a Dayton DVC 12 / Dayton 240 watt plate amp. I picked up a Dennon AVR-1706 receiver to power the TB's. Maybe next year I'll upgrade the TB mids to the CSS FR125's.

Hubby to be is into computer gaming so I'm also building him a set of the TB's in .1 ft^3 enclosures along with a Tang Band W6-1139SG sub. The Keiga KG-3100 will power all 3 unless someone has a better idea (see my other thread).

So I've got something for "them together" and something personal for him, now I just need to figure out something personal for her :cwm22: and I'm all set.

Don't upgrade those Tangband surrounds to the FR125's. You'll be wasting money. I have a pair of them and am underwhelmed. They do work for surround duty but any good 4" in the proper box will do just as good.

I mostly agree. I built a complete set of 5 FR125's for my daughter's room and a set of the TB 657's for my son's room. They both sound great, and are hard to tell apart. The upper midrange/lower treble area is much smoother in the FR125's, and when asked to get loud they will play a good bit louder before they start to get harsh, but the TB's still sound great.
If the $60 per driver difference is significant to your budget then I would agree leaving the surounds as TB's and just upgrading the front 3 to FR125's is a good option.
