home theaters being screwed up by "big brother"

Postby milenk0 » Thu Dec 07, 2006 8:59 pm

just found this link, apparently, only one person is supposed to watch his/her own dvd on a small television while sitting on the floor, and/or wooden chairhttp://www.bbspot.com/News/2006/11/home-theater-regulations.html
And Shepherds we shall be, for Thee my lord for Thee.
Power hath descended forth from Thy hand,
that our feet may swiftly carry out Thy command.
So we shall flow a river forth to Thee,
and teeming with souls shall it ever be.
In Nomine Patris, et Filii, et Spiritus Sancti.

I like the little disclaimer at the bottom of the page

BBspot is a satirical news and comedy source and meant to be funny. If you are easily offended, gullible or don't have a sense of humor we suggest you go elsewhere.

What's more eye-opening is that we don't seem to have a problem believing that they'd actually do that :D

but the really sad thing is that in this country if the MPAA pumped enough money into whoever they needed to they could get that law passed.....

I don't think it could be passed. The only way your house is a theater is if you charge admission to watch the movie. as long as it's free there are no problems. The size of your TV, stereo, and number of chairs is inconsiquential. that's not what defines a theater.

plus the hardware they would want to install in tv's and whatnot is a violation of privacy.
