Using the Scanspeak 15W series mid/woofer

Postby s.j.hebert » Fri Feb 23, 2007 1:25 am

I'm about to start a new project using the 5" scanspeak revelator mid/woofer. There's actually two variations and I'm using the one with the higher Q. I forget the whole model # but it ends in "01". Along with the SS 2905/9500 tweeter, I plan to make an MTM tower. I haven't decided whether or not to make a sealed box or a ported system. If I go sealed, I'll ad a sub, but that's beyond the scope of my question.
Has any DIY'er out there used this driver and have any advice?

Thanks,

Good choice of drivers... The box is somewhat of a personal choice, as the driver will work fine in either... I would personally port it to gain superior output and better low end extension. The revelators do very well on the bottom end, and I feel that should be capitalized upon. You may still need a subwoofer, however.
