Klipsch KG 4.5's

Postby wagz » Mon Jul 23, 2007 3:16 pm

Well i had been looking for a set of speaker towers for some time but unable to find any that i really liked. I wanted a pair of Boston Acoustics A150's but nothing in good condition came up on ebay. But yesterday a pair of Klipsch KG 4.5's in great condition came up still at a low price with only a few min left and i kinda did an impulse buy on them and got em for $101 + shipping. I had enough time to research a bit and make sure this was what i wanted but im not quite sure of the setup.

With these speakers i had read that they were loud and can be overpowering in small rooms so i plan to put them in my main room and use them for everything from parties to normal tv watching. My current setup has kinda been scavenged from a few of my old setups but uses the speakers from the old version of the klipsch 5.1 promedia set, with a 600watt receiver and a dayton mk3 titanic 12" sub in a 3cuft box @ 26hz.

if i run the new KG 4.5's off of the receiver would it be safe to assume that the receiver will automatically cut the lower frequencies giving to the speakers leaving a reason to keep the sub in the setup? I have no doubt these speakers are capable of producing low frequencies but im not sure what affect the receiver will have, compaired to just an amp for the speakers.

and ideas or thoughts about these speakers?
