Big Bad BIB build

Postby ballstothewall » Sun Jul 29, 2007 10:05 pm

Heres some pics of my build of BIB's for the Eminence 12LTA driver and a Fostex FT17 tweet. It takes 5 sheets of ply for the two enclosures, 6'3"x20"x30" rough dimensions.

On to the pics *More will be posted as I build the other one*

holy jeez that box is huge. What are you going to do with this once you build it?

I know those other speakers. Dayton References (7"?) with a Dayton Classic tweet?
-Nick aka NS1 aka mopey aka speedbump
Alpine CDA-9827
Crossfire CFQ5.2
JL Audio XR 650csi components, Planet Audio TT2300
Crossfire VR404 on factory rear 6x8's until I get them upgraded
SI 15D2 + 3.8 @ 30 hz + Crossfire BMF 1000D = :)

Well, they are going to be used for music in a parade, once, then hell if I know. They might stay in manhattan as the neighbor agravator if I've got the room. I think I've already got that covered if I want to though, I've got my Maggies and a single sealed 15" in the basement (have another 15" as well, just don't have the box done). They might become shop speakers, or I might sell them. *Or they may sit around and collect dust like everything else I build that I'm not currently using*

Its just one of them things I had an excuse to build them so I did.

Oh the other speakers is one of my MTM's, Dayton Reference 7's and a Morel MDT29.

Edit: The second one is done, just have to move them up to Manhattan before I take pics of the pair.

These speakers completely utterly dominate, with the space they take up and the low end they pump out. They get painful loud with UNDER 100 watts, I'm powering them with an ART SLA-1 amp and I can't turn it up all the way, I can't take it. The low end on these is just unreal, feel it in the chest, in the floor, in the walls, its just nuts.

I don't think they turned out to bad for the build time being roughly 24hrs (including sleep).
