New HT room

Postby KU40 » Tue Aug 21, 2007 8:05 pm

The roommate moved out and so the audio equipment moved in.

What do you think of the spacing of my mains? is there some kind of algorithm to tell you how far apart they should be depending on how far away you are from them? the TV is only about........6' away from the couch.

oh, and I hope you like my grandma's couch that we moved in. It was a beast getting up the stairs and was just too wide by a paint coat in a couple areas. Oh well, our place is a mess anyways (as you may note by the holes in the wall). It's probably the last in the whole area to not be renovated and management wants to wait until we move out.

And for the ceremonial first movie in about 2 minutes.......

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm so excited. When I was putting it all in my gf was like "you're like a kid in a candy store." yep, this stuff is my candy.

yeah it's a little crazy. I'm pretty sure I got the idea of the 3-way configuration of speakers in the center channel from some kits that a guy somewhere on the net builds. I can't remember where but I do remember that it was a reputable source.

and in this new room it sounds awesome. Derek, if you read this, I didn't have the voice problem with the center channel with 300. I don't know what combination of changed variables did it, but it sounded perfect. I need to watch some more movies to get a better comparison, though, since I hadn't watched 300 with the setup downstairs in the old configuration.

looks sweet! now you just need a HUGE plasma or LCD :)

My roommate got a 50" LCD but it's staying downstairs for basketball games in HD and stuff. I was thinking about getting one for this room but the bills have been coming in like crazy lately.
