I hate my car

3.4 liter engine, for those that know it, not much more needs to be said.

tensioner on the timing belt came loose and the belt rubbed about half of itself off before a section of teeth came off and it just stopped working. My dad came and hauled it home so his shop could work on it and save me some money. put a new belt on, along with a new serpentine belt, water pump, and new plugs and wires. Worked flawlessly on the 3+ hour drive back to school.

get here, it starts to lose power. it isn't a gradual thing, I'll either have half power or full power, sometimes it jumps up to full when I'm really stepping on it, usually not. sometimes it even goes down to almost no power and I can't even accelerate. RPM's hardly go up no matter how hard i press on the gas. shakes pretty bad, and tonight when i opened the hood there was just a little smoke coming up from the engine, i could only see it in direct light.

so i figure it must be electrical or something? or the whole thing is just f'd up. which is most likely with my luck. any thoughts, besides run it off a cliff, which i'm honestly close to doing.

Make sure you get out before you get to the cliff. That is all.

You're more than likely out of time. There's special equipment used to get all the cams lined up.

and you would be correct sir. found out today my dad's mechanic must not have timed it right, even though my dad said he knew about the tricks with my engine. they better get it right.
