Head lights

Postby Shooter61 » Thu Sep 22, 2005 6:56 pm

Ok just standing in front of the window here at work I saw a maxima pull out and it had blue headlights, they weren't the extremely bright and obnoxious hyper whites but a nice pretty blue, does anyone know where I could catch a kit for these or is it just a bulb or whats the deal? it's for a 98 Grand Prix

blue lenses or true HID bulbs on low...rice boys like to use their fast burn HID bulbs on high all the time making you think they are brighter than they actually are... lol. I have HID bulbs in my moms fog lights and they just sparkle blue, not uber bright or anything (even when yo uare low enough to actually be in the light)

blah blah. . . Shooter what you prob saw were some cheapo blue headlight bulbs, you can buy them at many places that sell the regular headlight replacement bulbs. They should run you between $10-$20 a piece.

If it was a newer maxima, then what you saw was a lower color HID system. There are companies that make kits to install into many cars. Catz, Philips, McCulloch, to name a few. The whole system consists of wire harnesses, bulbs, and ballasts. Some higher end kits are based upon a projector lense, but to install those requires that you cut your headlights, and do some custom work. The HID conversion kits usually run from about $250 to $600, but those also increase light output a great deal.

alrigt well as you guys can tell from my signature I'm really not a performance guy so would it be cheesy for me to just get a couple of new bulbs that would just be blue or would you go with the high intensity (hid?? i think thats the term) cause all I really wana do is get that blue color which I think looks really nice.

it's probably a 5300K HID setup. It's more of a natural light.

yeah its a 03 corolla...the 1st year they changed the style to the currant one.

This is the cleanest picture I can take with my 3.2mega pixel cam. @ night as you know camras tend to catch alot of glar as well as hot spots. oh and the foglight that looks bright as hell is now fixed. It was aim to high thats why it looks like that(driver side)
