actually Tal, while the 6 is the evolution of the 626, the body & chassis are all new, the redesign is pretty extensive. The new 626 chassis is now being used in the lincoln zephyr and the new ford fusion.

didn't realize they updated the chasis as well.... i know they went with a new chasis in the rx8 over the rx7... supposed to be a huge improvement there.

I get bout 16-18 mpg in my '96 Blazer with the 4.3 V6.

I don't even want to know what my new '98 Z28 with the 350 in it is going to get. Probabally like 8mpg.

I have a 97 S10 2.2 5 speed with an extended cab.

Truck weighs about 3700 lbs. I get 25 mixed driving, and get 29 @ 90 on the interstate/highways only (570 miles of interstate and highways averaging 70 mph including a stop in the middle for gas at the 300 mile mark).

The first time I took the same trip, I managed 24 mpg going, and 21 coming back. Since then, I put in a K&N, a tonneau cover, and redid the front wheelbearings.

After doing the testing, I've put on bigger tires, I'm in the process of building a ram-air setup (if I can find the time to finish it!), I put on an efan, 180* tstat (from a 195*), I have a header to put on when I get the rest of the exhaust ready for a new setup). I'm hoping my mileage will go up a bit (4.11's suck...I hated driving @ 3500+ rpm for hours at a time!).

2000 B3000 w/ egr problems
i dont know what im rated at but ive gotten 20.5mpg and am fixing to fill up agian...this is rural driving. i figure im going to get about the same as i am jsut above 1/2 tank, ive gone 160miles, and i have an 18gal tank... so if i can hit 180miles and be on 1/2 tank, 9gal to fill up, 20mpg.
but i also have 265/75's instead of 245/75's and i have 120some odd lbs of stereo in the cab plus 30lbs of books/school/athletic stuff. im soon to get a 1 1/2" lift in the front (depending on what i make P2P Chem tutoring) and im looking for gibson exaust for xMas and im thinking of either building my own intake or jsut grabbing a fram or K&N replacement filter to see if there is any improvement.
i also see a tonneu cover in the future, im hoping to get it up to 24mpg or so with the 30" tires.
EPA estimates suck, end of discussion, a rough estimate and some cars actually get BETTER than EPA esitmates but most worse. also, if 48mph isnt your vehicles most efficent speed then its easy to gain a few MPG if yo ucan find the most efficent speed (drag coeficent vs maximum power with least fule consumption)
