Next goal?

LS6 or FAST intake manifold, underdrive pulley, skinnies for the front -- should be good for about four more tenths in the 1/4 mile, and put me at a solid 11 second car even in the dead heat of the summer.

Slicks and skinnies would be fun at the track. I want to get pictures and video of my car putting at least 6" of air under the front tires on launch. That is a HUGE goal actually.

Maybe some more suspension work and weight reduction to try to use the above planned mods and a good setup to get an 11.49 or better on the stock heads. Going to be tough on that one though. Very tough.

After that, throw some heads on it and shoot for a DEEP 11 second pass (11.0-11.2).

Then I'm just a bigger cam away from a 10 second pass, and a spray away from a deep 10, high 9 second pass. Doesn't need to be much faster than that. :)

I'm hoping my LS6 intake, and SLP long tubes will get me to some decent passes. Already has the SLP catback.

With a 6 speed, it's all on you buddy. With those mods the car should MPH high enough for a solid 12 second pass. Its just if you can drive it.

That was the density altitude, not the actual altitute (track is actually 500' above sea level). Density altitude corrects for the actual altitude, because the higher above sea level you go the slower the car will run. Actually, -500' was wrong anyway. My hardcore drag racer buddy figured it up, -4' DA.

RADEon, it has nothing to do with your shifting. Most people can shift fast enough for good ETs at the track. Handling a 6 speed at the track is all a matter of getting off the line good. The absolute BIGGEST factor of getting good ETs at the track is the 60' time. You might not have ever been told that if you dont do the track thing too much, but its something I've learned after watching what goes on. My car ran an 11.97 with 335 rwhp. There are Supras out there with 600rwhp that cant run 11s because they cant get the car off the line and down the track without traction problems. All the power in the world wont do you any good if you cant get it to the ground. ;)

sweet time

i just got to the track for the first time ever in my z. Given the conditions(of the track AND my car) im not too dissapointed. managed a 16 flat at 87, with a 2.3sec 60'. It was 30degrees out, and my 3rd gear synchros are shot, so at half track im sitting there fiddling around to get it into 3rd. I'm guessing the 2-3 shift is costing me a few tenths at least, and i imagine that i could shave a little bit off that 60' with some practice and warm weather. I should be in the mid-low 15's. I think with some sticky drag radials and a stronger clutch i could dip into the low 15's.
