Most likely it wouldn't make enough of a difference to matter. Not something I'm going to worry about.

And FYI, once my friends are telling me not to screw it up, you hear the chick filming do a little beep thing with her voice. The joke was that they wished I had Nextel so they could direct connect and tell me not to f' it up. :cwm11: My friends are the best.

nice run.

Like the civic too, 9 psi isn't much though, at 15, you better look out.

9psi on a 1.8L on stock pistons, rods, and internals isn't much? :meh:

At 15psi I better watch out.

Then if I had heads, intake manifold, and pulley he better watch out at 15psi.

Then if he had 20 psi I better watch out.

Then if I had a bigger cam he better watch out.

Then if he had 25 psi I better watch out.

Then if I had a small shot of nitrous he better watch out.

Then if he had...

Run what you brung. No bench or magazine racing allowed around these parts. ;)

It was a very nice car though, a few ricey touches that he could have done without to clean the car up a little more, but still VERY nice and very quick for what it was. I was impressed.

no, 9 psi isn't alot, even on stock internals. those engines take a beating. I wasn't defending the civic, Im just saying those little buggers are quick. Of course an ls1 will spank it, but you have give credit to the little guys.

I did give him credit. It was a nice car, and after the run I went up to him and found out all the details.

The fact is that (from what he said) he did all the work to his car, and brought it out running 12.4s. I did all the work to mine and brought it out running just into the 11s. Doesn't matter if he was running 2psi of boost or 20psi, 11.9 to 12.4 was the race. He would take any stock LS1 with that setup, and give quite a few bolt on LS1s a run for their money and win.

If anything, considering full bolt on GSRs are only mid 14 second cars in this kind of weather, and taking the weight difference into account, I'd say a 12.4 run from a stock internal car like his is damn impressive for "only" 9psi (which was an estimate he said, he was going into his logs to check his boost when I was talking to him and wasn't sure yet, at least 9psi was what he said). I'm sure he could have dumped some race gas in and cranked the boost through the roof, but thats how he ran it on the street.

Not taking anything away from him. I just dont like the "well this car ran this number in that magazine" or "if he would have had X and Y done you better look out" magazine/bench racing. It's all run what ya brung. Heck, on the way up I lost to a buddy of mine in a race from a roll and his car is over a full second SLOWER than mine (he was in his sweet spot, I was way out of my powerband). He won the race, I lost, plain and simple.
