New car! ?

Postby Cuddles » Tue Nov 29, 2005 9:22 am

Well my Eclipse got crazy *** knock, and I was wondering what I should do now. I have a few known options.
1. Rebuild engine
2. Get a Honda Prelude

Im only iffy with getting the engine rebuilt because I think it might just crap out again because its ****subishi and all. Im kinda looking for something to be reliable and sporty, hints the Honda Prelude. Any ideas on what I should do? I have 14k and I dont really want to spend all of it.

*Hence, not Hints ;)

Preludes are great all-around cars, and you can bank on Honda's reliabitliy as we all know. Wouldn't be a bad idea if thats what you have your eye on. Plus it'll get you out of that rice-bucket Eclipse, cant beat that. :)

Insruance on an LS1 would be nuts. Im already jumping 50 bucks increase with a Prelude.

are you friends with a local mechanic? its worth the money to take it to one and have them give you an independent eval. if you don't know what to look for, give it to a pro, I know a local shop that does it for 20 bucks, they do a 15 min eval on it with it up on a lift, and trained eyes see a lot more than you will.

it depends what you want in a car, if its reliability for sure go with the honda, if its performance find something with RWD, maybe an older car cuz that would balance out the insurance

preludes are awesome and i typically don't like hondas but preludes look nice, they're pretty quick, and can run to 300k... definitley get a second gen. too...
