Paint touch up?

Postby Atomic Fusion » Fri Dec 23, 2005 6:18 pm

I scraped the paint on the edge of the fender on my friend's truck on some brick (its a little slippery here right now) and I'd like to fix it for him. It's about a 4 square inch patch with mostly surface scratches, but one scratch down to the metal. There is no deformation of the panel. Could anyone give me a step by step on how to touch this up and make it look normal again, and what kind of paitn to use and where to get it?

Thanks!

Adam

down to metal means sanding the entire area there to bare metal, prime, paint, clear...if not that drastic, buy touchup paint from a dealer and be gentle.

sometimes you can get a mix of the paint code with clear in and just EXTREMELY lightyl spray enough to give the scratches color and then wet sand. You have to eb very careful that you dont get too much though.
