Exaust Makes A World Of Difference

Postby CBFryman » Sun Dec 25, 2005 1:14 pm

OK so it isnt a NASCAR truck but it feels brand new, has a better pep in its step, runs a lil smoother, takes off a lil easier, feels like its trying to pull in 3rd gear :cwm32:.

Sure it isnt by the seat of your pants faster...but i can feel the extra power.

and is sounds hella good too

Before (it starts out 5ft away form the tail pipe and moves to the interior)

and after

(starts with the engine running and cuts, starts up agian and moves to the interior)

Even if i had paid the $240 it was well worth the money, i got it installed in less than 2hrs and the biggest PITA was getting the stock exaust off of the hangers with out removeing the hangers (not removing the hangers made putting the new exaust on a breeze).

as far as i can tell there are no leaks but i think the bigger pipe made the rubber flange seal singe a little.

Just like Gibson said the majority of the power increases are felt between 2000 and 4000 RPM.

So far thats all ive gotten for Xmas... we are opening the rest of the presents when my brother and sister in law get here. then all the others tomarrow when all the rest of the family and my GF are here.

Cat back. wich on my truck is basically 80% of the tubing. it goes headers, colector, maybe 1ft of that mesh pipe to cancel vibratiosn from the engine, cat, and then my exaust.

i took the exhaust from a 2001 camaro SS and put it in my 95 v6....pretty sure it's 3"....

with my K and N intake, she sounds like an 8 cylinder at idle...and doesn't sound raspy/ricey until i put the pedal through the floor....performance adding was very nice as well....got a lot peppier....and was worth the $200 total i spent....

Is that the 4.0L, the 3.0L OHC (Duratec) or the 3.0L OHV (Vulcan)?

yea... I am not a fan of import exhaust really unless needed for bigger mods. But on american cars with a lot of power, sounds great. You can't deny the rumble, it just sounds fast
