There are alot of reasons this happened. Financially and practically speaking this was the smartest move I could have made and still remained happy with having a car that I enjoyed driving.

2006 Spice Red Metallic A4 Pontiac GTO

Although controversial I've always loved the styling of the new ones. I think they have a subdued and understated aggressiveness about them. From some angles they look downright mean to me and I love the natural rake of the body lines. I had to test drive one to make sure it was what I really wanted though and after putting in a few miles behind the wheel I was thoroughly impressed with the car. There isn't a thing about it I don't like. And once I saw the Spice Red Metallic I knew it was all me. The color on this car is gorgeous and depending on the lighting it changes shades and hues as you can somewhat tell in the pictures. I went ahead and got an A4 to discourage modding (I test drove two M6 cars and already was thinking of mods starting with the shifter and clutch as I liked neither) and also since its going to be a daily it'll be alot nicer to just get in and drive.

Only mods are going to be appearance related (tint, wheels, and small exterior enhancements) and maybe a few bolt ons. I'll save the real mod money for building up my 88 Fox body drag project and to put towards the future replacement for the Trans Am as my fun weekend car.

Selling the Trans Am outright and using the money to pay off credit card debt. It's time to move on. I'm trying to look down the road. As much as I love the Trans Am it's never been my dream car. By doing this it will allow me a few years to get finances in order, my insurance to drop once I turn 25, and basically get settled into everything... and then I can hunt down the weekend car I've wanted to own since they've came out, a C5 Z06.

So I'm giving up a little now by losing the Trans Am but in the long run this will pay off.

I like the new GTO's, but have had a few friends who've experienced nothing but trouble with them. Hope all works out well for you.

Good stuff, but I can't say I fully agree with the decision or understand your financial reasoning...ever :D ... Definitely a sweet fun car though!

What's happening with the neon, or did you already get rid of that or trade it?

I am suprised that you went through with it Mr. Mind Change, not to mention as for cars I don't really like the color red yet own three...Then again, I guess it doesn't suprise me with you...

$11,000 on the Trans Am, going to get rid of the Neon for like $1,000.

I'm far less wishy washy than I used to be with my plans and schemes.

Only thing I dont like on the GTO are the wheels. Those have to go ASAP. Going to tint the windows, get some nice wheels for it, and do a few small appearance mods. Everything else I love about the car.

I think that we can now say that that's confirmed. That and really pis-poor drivers.

2nd that. I saw a guy making a right hand turn in one around a corner, and he mashed the gas pedal down 1/2 way through the turn, to impress his fat girlfriend. He put it in a drainage ditch and his whole front bumper cover popped off. I laughed so hard.
