Dazed and confused

Postby madmarc » Sun May 04, 2008 6:06 pm

Hey now! I'm a 45 year old DIYer. I build cars as a hobby such as a '29 Ford Coupe, a'67 El Camino, a'70 Beetle, a '83 5.0 GT, etc. I have several CD/decks earmarked for these vehicles(for my kids in college) but due to the fact that they are not the most current models, it is hard to get accurate color code diagrams for each manufacturers' harness plug(back of deck). Not knowing the specific history of these units and/or not having the harnesses themselves, I just want to be sure thing are wired correctly. One is a Clarion DRX 6375, a JVC KD-S640, a Kenwood and a Pioneer(model #'s to follow). Please shed some light so I can get it right. I'm new to this forum thing so bear with me. Respect, Madmarc

Generally speaking you will have a White/white black, green/green black, gray/gray black, purple/purple black for speakers. Red for +12v, yellow for ACC, orange dimmer and black ground. The blue wire is used for power antenna or amp turn on.

I hope that sheds some light on your situation.
