yeah... i havn't even started with the paperwork, but spent an hour and a half reading the informatoinal packet about the paperwork... i better get started hardcore, 8 days till it has to be mailed.

I will do my best at keeping the scum of the Earth out (drug smugglers), my wife keeps saying that she can just picture me as a a CBP Officer, and i think i would be great at it. I am a good judge of character, and integrity is my middle name. And i get to carry a firearm all the time, that is a bonus.

I don't agree and I've actually had border trouble, mainly coming back into the U.S. For the border security I've seen and experienced first hand, I do not ever think it went too far. It is what you make it though sometimes. The last time they didn't see a passenger in back, due to tint, and when they asked, "Is it just the two of you?" and I said no, and corrected them with an attitude, they flipped out and I had to wait...no big deal.

Also, as someone on this forum can tell you...

When they ask, "What is the nature of your visit to Canada?"

Do not say, "I wanted to see if your Spotted Owl tastes like our Bald Eagle."

I used to cross a lot before i was legal drinking age in the US.
Going into Canada i told the Canadian Customs that i was going to the bar (telling the WHOLE unadulterated truth). On the way back i would say the same, border patrol doesn't care if you had a couple, drunk is a different story

When I was younger and we made a trip into Canadia, they asked us, where you going? My dad without skipping a beat "Canada", I laughed, the guy didin't like that so much.....my dad got to the point of where we were going then and then when he asked us what the nature of our trip was, my dad said fishing......only problem we had the whole time was one of the people with us doesn't read or listen very well.....he crossed that nice yellow line while waiting to cross the border.....they had him pull off and spent quite awhile searching his truck and boat...on the way back....we made sure he didn't do that again.

I've had some unpleasant border crossing experiences, but heard of far worse ones.

Most of them are not bad, but some seem to get their jollies out of just fucking with people or when they think they've got a whiff of a big score, will destroy any property they need to and say any ignorant thing they feel like to attain that goal, and then when they don't find anything, leave the scene in a mess, sometimes deliberately damaging property out of spite (personal experience) like a spoiled child because they didn't get what they wanted.

Combine that with them being untouchable, and it just drives me nuts.
