Nope, because it isnt a dream catcher. It's similar in appearance but it is a medicine wheel.

It started peeling and some slight scabbing appeared. Itches like a SOB!

damn me. did you ever read or see the movie dreamcatcher?

anyways...what did they tell you to do for care....i've heard various stories....and lately....the people i've known getting them...leave them bandaged for a few hours....then don't put anything on them....until they start itching....and then they run them under really hot water for a minute...

my dude just told me to do A and D ointment till it started itching...and then use some really good lotion...aveeno ftw.

I have, and I thought it was really good until the part where they showed the things. looked too low-tech.

No, I havent read the book or watched the movie but it sounds like I'll have to read the book. I really like the whole meaning behind the medicine wheel. Even though different tribes put their own teachings behind it the meanings are basically the same. I'm too lazy to type it so if anybody is interested just google it and you'll have a ton of reading.

I was told to keep the saran wrap bandage on it for 4 hours then take it off and wash it with warm water. After that I was told to do nothing for 24 hours then just use Aveeno lotion twice a day for a few weeks until it is all healed up. During the healing process I'm suposed to just wash it once a day gently then pat dry. I was specifically adviced to not let the shower spray right on it or else it might rip off scabbing and peeling before they are ready to release.

I've heard lots of different methods of aftercare and many of them mention using A&D but my artist said to just use the lotion method so thats what I'm doing. So far so good.
