Looks promising so far. Should be nice a loud in the truck. Would you believe that I am just gettin the free time to work on that box you design for me now? The hospital has been serious busy for the last few months. Hope to have it finish and pics posted by next week. Thanks again for the input.

Box is complete. Need to get the subs in and determine what I will do for the port.

Full length port with no bend is 300 sq in of port tuned to 39 Hz with a net volume of 12.5 ft^3.

No port comes out to be 335 sq in of port tuned to 59 Hz with a net volme of 16.1 ft^3.

My plan is to start with the long port. I'll run sweeps, take readings, measure the true tuning frequency. Cut 1" off the port length and measure again. Cut another 1" off. . . .Hopefully I can come up with a port length for max SPL.

For daily, the port will have an insert that will make 200 sq in of port tuned to 35 Hz.

Still have a long way to go, but I have the subs in to start playing with my port length.

Amps are delayed, so I have the subs hooked to a 300 watt 4 channel amp. It is amazing how loud these subs will get on just 150 watts each!!!

Well today was a 9 hour day for busting butt!!

Cut the 45 degree flange on the outside wall of the port (man was that a pain in the butt).

Pretty much rewired the entire back half of the vehicle.

Followed that with getting the box bolted into the vehicle.

Cut the mounting plates (1.5" x 2") and the 3/4" thick flanges around the outside of the box. Thanks Josh! They fit perfect.

Added (3) threaded rods to brace the baffle and the large back wall.

Cut the main trim piece. Thanks again Josh - You really earned that $25 today ;)

Hopefully tomorrow will bring:

Finishing up a little rewire in the front of the truck. (I put the original system in this truck while I was living in MI. Wife went out of town, so I had three days to get it in. It snowed HEAVY the whole time. I was in the parking lot of my apartment, could only work at night, it was 16-20 degrees, and did I mention it was snowing HEAVY? The wiring was all correct, and I have not had any problems in 6 years, bu it needed a little makeover).

Cutouts for the rear speakers. Got to have rears, since I have the Dolby Digital processor.

Get the vinyl on the trim piece. We found vinyl that matches the hardtrim perfect.

GET THE SUBS BACK IN!

Once the subs are back in, I have a MD2D and my new TL I bought from Mike I can use to start tuning.

It is really starting to come together. If it performs anything like it looks, it will be AWESOME.

Man my cousin Josh measured to the vehicle every three inches around the the front of that box. Cut that piece, and that is where it sits. No second cuts - nothing - that was it. Then we put my boy in the box, held the piece up, and he traced the circles and port.

Should have more pics tonight.
