My latest autocross--videos!

boom: http://www.khaosman.com/gallery/oct05

My car is the Protege 5. Definitely check out the one titled "This will be classic footage of me" as it is most entertaining.

A little more information on the event. It took place in Marshalltown, Iowa on the go kart track there. The track is freaking awesome, like a mini-road course. I topped out at about 60mph which is pretty damn fast.

The combination of the higher speeds, worn rear tires (see pics in link above), and stiff sway bar led to some nice oversteer. Unfortunately, I couldn't control it and had to baby it, leading me to be at least 3-4 seconds slower than I'd like to have been.

There were lots of cool cars there, including the Elise. However, the driver was babying it far too much :D I think my buddy's stock Civic DX (minus Azenis + struts) ran faster. The car that was REALLY awesome is the yellow mod car with the K20A engine (rsx-s engine). 1500lbs with driver... rwd... insanity. Sounded great too.

you have to buy a camera mount & hard mount system. in car filming by a passenger or loose is against SCCA rules. So first figure out what kinda cross brace/rollbar mount you want to install, then buy the camera mount (about 70 bucks, made by io racing or io port IIRC)

Looks like a blast. I need to get the T/A back to the autocross course. I just hate beating on it that much. Drag racing is alot easier on it, even if it doesn't require as much driver skill. I still like to make it out once or twice a year just to give the car hell.

And that course is awesome. I've never seen an autocross ran on a course like that.

I made mine for about $30: http://www.khaosman.com/gallery/mount
I also use zip ties and bungie cords to further restrain it for less bouncy pictures and safety.

Josh, get out there and autocross it anyways :D It isn't your daily driver, so come on, have some fun with it and use it to its purpose :cwm18:
