fan problems on a Sentra

Postby Dezal » Sat Aug 26, 2006 7:16 pm

I dont know what happened but today when I left to go to the store my cars fan switch will only work on the highest setting. My car is a 94 Nissan Sentra. Im thinking it is probably a relay somewhere but Im not totally certain. Is this a simple fix or do I need to take it to a garage?

it is most likely the fan switch itself as the contacts are worn out, only thing I can say to try that is cheap is to pull the switch out, and clean it well with some alcohol based cleaning solution and check to make sure the contacts are still good, otherwise you will probably have to replace the switch. Normally when internal fans go out as you describe, it is the switch, not a relay.
