Ive just brought a pair of Re 8's 2 ohm & was wondering if they would be ok to mount in a door build fee air ??.
Would be powering them off a old Kicker ZR240 with MRX crossover module to select the frequency range .
The rest of the speakers consist of a set of 4 inch components in the dash powered by a Rockford 100a2 & a Celestion Ad15H powered off a Kicker ZR600 .
Just want a little tight bass up front , so will this work ???.
Please feel free to comment and advize me
RE 8 question by a newbie(be understanding please).

The Re 8 won't act like the midbass you want it to. It's really a subwoofer. I'm afraid you'll be disappointed.
One thing you can do to try and help, though, is to seal off your door and make it infinite baffle. Isolate the front wave from the back. Or if you want to build some fiberglass pods for them, that would help too. But like I said, they still probably won't sound as good at 200-300 hz for midbass duty as you'd like.

Are you saying that the RE 8's in sealed fg door builds will not be able to produce the tight slapping bass i want ???.
I was looking for them to work at the upper end of the bass spectrum & to bring the bass forward .
The 15 inch sub will take care of the real lows .
Please remember im a novice ,i think i know what i want but probably dont .

I haven't actually used these but I bet they would perform excellent in your application for about what you paid for hte RE 8's most likely...

They look very promising with the 8mm Xmax and Tangband-quality standing tall! I'm thinkin' about buyin a pair for my car when (if! lol) I ever get the extra funding...

Lol ahh you remind me of me about 2 years ago. good times
anyway the only real reason to get a sub over the midbass is for the lows. While i havent tried/ experienced a sub in the doors sealed i currently have those midbasses in my doors sealed and they do exactly what your wanting.... add that punch that 15s really dont have and fill inbetween the midrange and sub. You will need a processor thou. Sub or midbass will need a bandpass crossover setting and very few amps allow that. also alot of tweaking is going to be needed to get it to sound right
